The Healthiest Foods for Unhealthy Times

Hopefully you are able to get more sleep during this time of confinement. In addition to staying hydrated, here is a list of foods you should definitely be eating now to keep your immune system strong and allow your organs to detoxify. These foods are things you should try to consume regularly but especially now during this extra stressful time. I've already posted the Sweet Potato Soup recipe to heal and comfort you. Sweet Potatoes – repairs cell damage, promote productive bacteria in the stomach, small intestine and colon, while at the same time, starve out unproductive bacteria and fungi such as mold. This enhances the body’s production of B12. Orange fleshed sweet potatoes are also abundant in vitamins, minerals, other nutrients and carotenoids such as beta-carotene and lycopene and amino acids. The combination of lycopene and sweet potato’s amino acids draws radiation from the body and its phytochemicals are anti-cancerous.

Coconut – enhances the power of anything it touches, it supercharges the health benefits of anything it is combined with, coconut water is remarkably similar to human blood, it provides vital glucose and critical mineral salts including potassium and sodium to the bloodstream, it provides neurotransmitter support. Coconut milk is made by crushing the flesh(meat) of the coconut while coconut water is naturally occurring in the center of the coconut. Always buy clear, unsweetened coconut water. Parsley – highly remineralizing food high in trace minerals such as magnesium, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, selenium, sulfur, iron, zinc, iodine and calcium, it is an adaptogenic * herb and an adrenal booster, it impedes the growth of microorganisms, it’s full of B vitamins such as folic acid, traces of B12, coenzymes and vitamins A, C and K. Cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, collards, broccoli, broccoli rabe, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, kale, arugula and mustard greens) rich in sulfur, restores and stimulates lung tissue, rich in vitamins A, C, E and K.
